| The India Australia Exchange Forum (IAEF)’s commitment to build 100 toilets in India received a huge boost in Melbourne.
On February 12, the IAEF organised a charity dinner in Preston to raise funds for their toilet building program.The event turned out to be a success with over 150 guests in attendance, many of whom generously donated for this cause. Welcoming the guests, Mr. Ashwin Bora reiterated IAEF’s support towards the ‘Clean India’ Mission initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also stated that the toilet building program will take Indians one step closer to a cleaner India. The event, which was both informative and entertaining, was well presented by Mr. Shivesh Pandey and Mr. Stephen Manallak. The IAEF team spoke on the importance of this toilet building program and delivered presentations on how it will benefit people in rural India. Ms. Preeti Daga conducted the auction to raise funds for this noble cause, Melburnian showered this event with their heartiest donations with over 17000 dollars raised on that night for clean India program . On the entertainment side, a ramp walk by IAEF ambassadors and kids was exceptionally well presented and executed. A bollywood dance by the students of Mandy dance school delighted the guests. Placards were also displayed revealing facts on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the impact of lack of basic sanitation and government measures to fulfil it. A life-size cut-out of PM Modi was placed at this fundraiser event. Guests enjoyed clicking selfies with the charismatic leader. “We are absolutely delighted.
